Redneck, hippie, high-brow. What can we say? There is a cultural fusion that takes place in Kaslo every day. It seems like it’s always been this way, and it is just as likely that the dance will continue; variously clumsy, graceful, quickstep, slow.
Like much of the surrounding area, Kaslo is home to many creative people. If you’re here in the summer, Kaslo’s Artwalk, or the annual Columbia Basin Culture Tour will convince you of that. And despite its small size, a surprising number of world class musicians perform in Kaslo every year. Downtown restaurants, the Kaslo Jazz Festival, the Langham Theatre are just some of the venues. Almost every week, even in the winter, you can enjoy original performances.
